Mathallen Oslo is situated in the Vulkan area, a central part of Oslo with St.Hanshaugen to it’s west, Grunerløkka to the east and Alexander Kiellands Plass to the north. Vulkan is home to a range of creative establishments offering exciting possibilities within culture, education, nightlife, food and drink.
Mathallen is a short 15 minute walk from Oslo’s central station. Head for Maridalsveien and you’ll find a staircase next to hotel Scandic Vulkan that will lead you to Mathallen. From Grünerløkka, simply cross the river using the bridge in Nordre Gate.
To help encourage cycling, we’ve provided more than 650 parking spaces for bikes at Vulkan. You’ll find these just outside Mathallen and inside our parking garage. Bike spaces are located in sections P1 and P3.
Trams 11, 12 and 13 all stop at Schous Plass. From there, walk down Nordre Gate and across the bridge to get to Vulkan.
Busses 34 and 54 stop at Møllerveien. Turn the corner and walk down Møllerveien before turning left by Dansens Hus.
Metro/Train: The closest stop is Oslo Central Station (Jernbanetorget). From there, Mathallen is a short 15 minute walk, or you can catch a bus or tram.
When visiting by car, you can use our parking garage (Vulkan P-hus). We offer charging stations for Teslas and other electric vehicles.
Access to the garage is via Maridalsveien, next to Westerdals.
Our parking garage is open 24/7.
